Wondering what to expect from the Tampa Bay weather on your next vacation? We’re here to help! We’ve got a quick guide to every season so you can make the most of your time in one of our vacation rentals near Tampa Bay.
Summer
Tampa Bay is the place to be during the summer season. If you enjoy warm weather, sunny days, spending your time at the beach, or swimming in icy springs, you’ll love summer in Tampa Bay. The summer weather lasts around 5 months (from May to September), in which the temperature rises to the 90s and lowers down to the mid-70s.
By staying at our Tampa Bay area rentals, you’ll not only enjoy the weather in Tampa Bay, but also our rental’s perks, including private pools, grilling areas, fenced backyards, pet-friendly rentals, and more. A perfect summer package! More importantly, Tampa Bay’s main attractions and nearby towns are just a short drive away.

Fall
In reality, Florida doesn’t have a traditional fall. The weather in Tampa Bay (and the rest of Florida) is broken down into two seasons: wet and dry. Florida’s “fall” is the dry season, starting in October, and “dry” means no rain. Florida—despite it being “the Sunshine State”—experiences heavy rain for months. Now, finally, from September through November, it is generally dry. There aren’t any big changes in temperature and the leaves don’t change color.
This is a great time to visit Tampa Bay as well, especially if you prefer warm weather that is much less humid. Some things we recommend are visiting the Tampa Museum of Art, strolling around one of the city’s many farmer markets’, trying Tampa Bay’s famous Cuban sandwich, or renting a coast bike and riding the Tampa Riverwalk. But most of all, if you enjoy theme parks, going to Busch Gardens for Howl-O-Scream is a great plan and a must-try!
Winter
Florida winter brings the ideal weather for a lot of people because it’s not scorching hot, but it’s also not cold. From December to February, the temperature lowers significantly, ranging from the 50s to 70s. Still sunny, though! Sometimes not even a coat is necessary, but many enjoy changing their wardrobe during this season.
This is a famous time to visit Florida because of one thing: Snow. There’s no need to worry about how many layers of clothes you need, if your car needs to have ice scraped, or if the snow needs shoveling off. Another great thing about winter in Tampa Bay is the oranges! They’re in season in the winter, and many people enjoy having Florida’s fruit during these cooler months.

Spring
Tampa Bay’s spring is beach season for locals, which begins in March! The temperature lowers to the 60s and the days are much longer. This is a great time to spend most of the day outside. Plan and visit hikes, trails, preserves, and beaches to get the most out of your trip! Keep in mind that once April comes along, temperatures start to rise again.
If you decide to book a Tampa Bay rental with pools, you may want to look for one that’s closer to the beach. It is the best time to enjoy the sunsets. Don’t miss out on the spring festivals, and if you can, visit Busch Gardens for a fun day outdoors.
